    • pectoralis major
    • serratus anterior
    • external oblique muscles

Blood Supply

  • lateral thoracic artery (branch of Axillary Artery)
    • branches curl around border of pectoralis major
  • also
    • internal thoracic artery
    • intercostal arteries
    • thoracoacromial arteries

Venous Drainage

  • run with arteries as above

Lymphatic Drainage

  • axillary (75%)
  • infraclavicular, 
  • parasternal

7.2.6.1 Lymphatic drainage

Importance in cancer; submammary plexus, axillary lymph nodes, some drainage to internal thoracic lymph nodes (communication across the midline). Central and apical nodes.
