Acute Red Eye
- Common complaints are corneal and subtarsal foreign bodies, corneal
abrasions and episcleritis.
- Less common are corneal abscess and acute anterior uveitis.
- Rare but sight-threatening conditions include acute angle closure glaucoma
and scleritis
Examination
- check visual acuity
- if reduced then cause is serious
- especially if pain rather than discomfort
