7.2.1 Osteology

Identification of bone, or identification on a plain radiograph or scan, or as surface landmarks, of the structures listed below.

7.2.1.1 Bones of the shoulder girdle

Clavicle (sternal and acromial ends); scapula (coracoid process, acromion, supra- and infraspinous fossae, glenoid fossa). Fractured clavicle.

7.2.1.2 Bones of the upper limb

Humerus (head, surgical neck, greater and lesser tuberosities, intertubercular & radial grooves, deltoid tuberosity, medial and lateral epicondyles, trochlea, capitulum).

Ulna (coronoid process, olecranon process, radial notch, styloid process).

Radius (head, radial tuberosity, styloid process).

Carpal bones (esp. scaphoid - tubercle, proximal pole, note blood supply, lunate; metacarpals; phalanges. Fractured scaphoid.
