Radial Nerve Lesion

Motor supply

  • subscapularis
  • teres major
  • lattisimus dorsi
  • triceps
  • anconeus
  • brachioradialis
  • extensor carpi radialis
  • deep interosseous branch
    • supinator
    • extensors
    • abductor pollicis longus

Sensory Supply

  • posterior aspect of arm and forearm
  • dorsal aspect of lateral 3 1/2 digits

Path

  1. passes backward between long and medial heads of triceps into posterior compartment of arm
  2. spirals around humerus in radial groove superficial to medial head of triceps
  3. pierces lateral intermuscular septum
  4. anterior compartment of arm
  5. covered by brachioradialis, extensor carpi radialis longus
  6. anterior aspect of supinator
  7. deep interosseous branch
    1. supplies superficial extensors
    2. winds laterally around radius
    3. supplies posterior muscles
  8. between brachioradialis and deeper muscles (flexor pollicis longus)
  9. approaches wrists
  10. deep to tendon of brachioradialis
