      • yellow rubbery centre with haemorrhagic border

      • obvious necrosis and inflammation
      • early granulation tissue

      • infarcted area paler and thinner than unaffected ventricle

      • granulation tissue then progressive fibrosis
  • 3-6 weeks

      • silvery scar becoming tough and white
    • microscopic
