Gardner's Syndrome

- Rare
- Autosomal dominant
- Deletion in long arm of chromosome 5
- Multiple tubular adenomatous polyps throughout colon and rectum (often in
proximal small bowel as well)
- First develop in adolescence
- Malignant change inevitable
- Whole of colorectal mucosa should be removed
- Standard : panproctocolectomy with ileostomy
- Preferred by patients : creation of ileal pouch
