• Most commonly occurs with suppuration of acute mastitis (lactating breast)
• Usually Staphylococcus aureus infection

Presentation

• Lactating breast
• Generally unwell
• swelling
  • Painful
  • tender
  • red
  • warm
  • may become fluctuating

Treatment

• Incision and drainage
