Diagnosis
- true extracellular fluid hypo-osmolality
- urinary osmolality inappropriately high
- clincally euvolaemic
- high urinary sodium excretion
- thyroid and adrenal dysfunction ruled out
Aetiology
- Small cell carcinoma of bronchus
- Central nervous system tumours
- Drug induced SIADH
- e.g. selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs)
