Vitreous Haemorrhage
- Common cause of visual loss in diabetics with new vessel formation
- May also occur in:
- bleeding disorders,
- retinal detachment,
- vein occlusions
- If enough to obscure vision then red reflex will be lost
- Presence of floaters
Treatment
- Should resolve spontaneously but if unresolved at 3 months vitrectomy may
be done to remove blood
