• posterior wall of iliac crest
• lumbar fascia
• spines of lower 6 thoracic vertebrae
  • deep to trapezius
• sometimes  few fibres from anterior scapula

Insertion

• floor of bicipital groove of humerus

Nerve Supply

• Thoracodorsal Nerve
  • from posterior cord of brachial plexus

Action

• extension
• adduction
• medial rotation
