Motor supply
- subscapularis
- teres major
- lattisimus dorsi
- triceps
- anconeus
- brachioradialis
- extensor carpi radialis
- deep interosseous branch
- supinator
- extensors
- abductor pollicis longus
Sensory Supply
- posterior aspect of arm and forearm
- dorsal aspect of lateral 3 1/2 digits
Path
- passes backward between long and medial heads of triceps into posterior
compartment of arm
- spirals around humerus in radial groove superficial to medial head of
triceps
- pierces lateral intermuscular septum
- anterior compartment of arm
- covered by brachioradialis, extensor carpi radialis longus
- anterior aspect of supinator
- deep interosseous branch
- supplies superficial extensors
- winds laterally around radius
- supplies posterior muscles
- between brachioradialis and deeper muscles (flexor pollicis longus)
- approaches wrists
- deep to tendon of brachioradialis
