Sensory supply
Path
- medial to axillary artery
- to posterior aspect of medial epicondyle
- pierces intermuscular septum
- enters posterior compartment to lie anterior to triceps
- passes around medial epicondyle posteriorly
- pierces flexor carpi ulnaris
- between flexor carpi ulnaris and flexor digitorum profundus
- passes wrist in tunnel superficial to flexor retinaculum
Common pathology
- Causes

- valgus deformity
- clawed hand
- wasting of hypothenar eminence
- weak adduction at wrist
- hyperextension of metacarpo-phalageal joints
