Carboprost

• used to treat post-partum haemorrhage due to uterine atony in patients unresponsive to Syntometrine

Route

• Deep IM injection at 1 1/2 hour intervals (should not exceed 2mg / 8 doses)

Adverse Effects

• hyperthermia
• flushing
• bronchospasm
• diarrhoea
• nausea and vomiting
