ICD-10

Either

• persistent belief (> 6 months) in presence of serious physical disease

or

• Preoccupation with presumed deformity or disfigurement

Treatment

• reassure no physical cause
• explain probably psychogenic
• help with underlying stresses, problems
• may respond to cognitive behavioural therapy
