    • gluteal aneurysm 

Presentation

  • Incarceration or strangulation of the bowel diagnoses the hernia.

Treatment

  • Repair is usually made through the abdomen
    • hernia sac and contents are reduced
    • weak area closed by making a fascial flap from the superficial fascia of the piriformis muscle.
