Examination

• Observation
  • clawing of 4th & 5th fingers
• Wasted muscles
  • Hypothenar
  • Interossei (seen dorsally)
• Weakness
  • adduction / abduction of fingers
• Sensory Loss
  • medial 1.5 digits - little and ring fingers
• Other signs
  • Deformed elbow
  • Rheumatoid nodules
  • Froment's test

Causes

• trauma
  • elbow
• Rheumatoid arthritis
