• one of the terminal branches of the Common Peroneal Nerve
• supplies anterior compartment of leg

Course

1. arises in the substance of perneous longus on lateral side of neck of fibula
2. enters anterior compartment of leg by peircing anterior fascial septum
3. descends deep to extensor digigtorum longus
   1. lateral
   2. anterior
   3. lateral to anterior tibial artery
4. passes behind extensor retinaculum lateral to dorsalis pedis
5. divides into terminal, medial and lateral branches

    • extensor digitorum brevis
